The FYI's, Thoughts, and Observations of a 30 Something Woman on Internet Dating..

All the single ladies, All the single ladies.... So you think you are ready to date but you don't really go anywhere to meet anyone. Have you ever thought about Internet dating, well these are my thoughts... and I am pleading the 5th on how I know any of these....

1. If it seems to perfect, then it is!

2. If a man is bothered by the fact that you Googled him, you should probably dig a little deeper.

3. If you receive a pic that seems just a little to perfect. Check Google images and you may find the same one.

4. If after a short time he is diagnosed with a brain tumor, it is not rude or uncaring to back up slowly, do a 180 and RUN!

5. If something major happens every time you are supposed to meet, you may want to rethink meeting at all.

6. If a man is overly emotional for any reason, it could be a sign of instability.

7. The people on Christian dating sites are NOT all Christians.

8. If everyone close to you has doubts about the person, no matter how right you think you are, they are probably right"ER" so stop, step back, and listen to what they are seeing.

9. If a man tells you he is offered a once in a lifetime job but he is turning it down for you and have not met in person yet. He is either lying or he is an idiot. Either way delete his number.

10. If a man tells you that you are too good for him or that you deserve better, believe him. He knows himself better than anyone.

FLAWS, WE ALL HAVE THEM

Jenna and Logan have gotten their sibling parts down to a fine art these days. Jenna has the big sister bossiness mastered and Logan plays the annoying little brother part perfectly. AND they tattle ALOT about EVERYTHING....
As we were driving to church yesterday, the kids were eating their breakfast and Jenna in her most disgusted, nine year old, big sister voice says, "Mom, Logan is chewing with his mouth open."
Me, in my annoyed, stop tattling voice replied, "Jenna, you have got to learn to be more tolerant."
She shoots back with, "How do you do that?"
I  really had to think about my answer and I am not sure if it was even a good one. But it got me thinking about how easy it is to get too focused on other peoples flaws. We all have flaws, no human is perfect but often it is easier to point out someone else's then to see our own. Jenna didn't realize that she was smacking when she chewed but no one had pointed that out.....
How much better would our world or even our households be if we focused on the good in people and pointed that out instead?

The Tooth Fairy Didn't Come...CRAP!!

We all have our strengths and weaknesses and parenting is no exception. I have many weaknesses as a parent but the one I have been an epic failure at is the TOOTH FAIRY... if I had a dollar for every time one of my kids said, "mom, the tooth fairy didn't come" ....and I quickly try to come up with some really great reason why I am sure they didn't come that particular night.... It's so bad the kids can even come up with excuses for her. They aren't even disappointed anymore. But I am usually able to save the day by tossing a dollar on the floor or under the bed and saying, "well maybe you should look again, maybe it fell off the bed when you were sleeping, you do move around a lot you know" ...my kids are smart, I'm not sure if they really have not caught on to my tooth fairy failure or if they are just humoring me and playing along.

To make matters worse, I got this today....
"An annual survey by Visa showed that children received an average of $3.70 per lost tooth last year – an increase of 23% over the $3 per tooth left in 2012. On average, parents who were age 18-24 were most generous, leaving an average of almost $5 per tooth."
You people are killing me! Not only am I forgetful tooth fairy I am also cheap. My kids get $5 for the first tooth and $1 for each one after that.
"It seems a lot of parents are in the dark about how much to give. Visa has even come up with a free tooth fairy calculator as an app in the Apple Store and on Facebook – that makes no recommendations but tells you how much the tooth fairy is leaving in households comparable to yours."
Seriously??? Is this really something people worry about?
